One of the challenges of being an online freelancer is managing your finances, particularly paying SSS contributions, tax obligations, insurance payments, and social security contributions. And while there are services that now offer a convenient way to pay for SSS via mobile app and other government billers, not all of them can be done in a single app.
Today we’re going to look at one of the promising mobile app that will help you ensure that you are in control of your finances and government obligations. I’ll take you to a quick run down of Moneygment app from Togetech.
Moneygment is a payment portal that offers a one stop shop that allows you to make payments and contributions to government institutions like Philhealth, SSS, Pag-IBIG, and BIR and a few other institutions like telcos, credit card and insurance companies. It’s free to download the app in Apple App Store and Google Play store.
Aside from the fact that you’re getting this app for free, the convenience that it offers is hard to ignore. While they do charge a small fee when you make payments, the time that you will save for the commute or travel, and the long lines that you don’t have to hurdle in the different offices or banks far outweighs the benefits you’ll get for using the app.
As of this writing, the app has been rated 3.9 out of 5 by iOS users and 4.1 out of 5 by Android users. And while it is a work in progress, the app has received some great reviews and feedback that will hopefully improve the service even further.
How to Use Moneygment App
To get started using the the app, you first need to register or create an account. You can use your Facebook or Gmail account to sign up. If you need a referral code, you can use my referral code which means I will receive 5 points which I can use in my future payments.
Once you’ve completed the sign up process, you can proceed and login to do the next steps. You will be requested to fill out a form and supply with your details. This may look like a tedious process but it will be worth all the hassle as it’s one time process only. The information you supplied will be later used to autofill forms when you make a payment, making it really convenient and hassle free experience.
To make your payments, go to the app’s home page then choose what to pay. For SSS, Philhealth and Pag IBIG, choose the first box on the upper left, then simply tap on the appropriate tab at the bottom of the window. The fields will then be automatically filled out using the information you have entered in the account creation process.
How to Fund Your Account
Similar to popular e-wallets like GCash and PayMaya, Moneygment requires you to fund your account so you can proceed with your payments. Just tap on the burger menu icon (three lines) on the upper left corner of the screen. Choose My Wallet in the list, then click on Top-up. Fill out the pop up with the amount you will deposit to your account. Then tap confirm. You will be provided with a list of options on how to fund your wallet.

In this tutorial, I’m going to use 711 as it’s the most convenient place for me to go. All I’ll have to do is to generate the QR code and present this to the cashier for payment. Make sure to make the payment before it expires.
