I’m Florante Valdez, a husband, father, blogger and certified freelancer. Workmates and clients call me Drey because they have a hard time pronouncing my name. I can’t remember how many times I’ve been called “Poo- ran-te” or “Flu-ran-tea” so I had to put an end to the undue abuse of my name.

I am a Bible believing Baptist, saved by grace and firmly believe that Jesus is the only hope in this world. Not money, not fame, not knowledge, not even your looks or the color of your skin, it's only JESUS.

I'm not sure what brought you to my site, but my best guess is you're researching. If you're looking for information about freelancing and home based work, then you're in the right place. The goal of this website is nothing more than making sure that the word be spread out that there is a hope for the unemployed, the underpaid, those that didn't finish college, and most especially for those who are dedicated and committed to doing hard work.

About five years ago, I was working in the call center here in Cebu. I do sales, customer service, and even fundraising campaigns. I talk to irate clients, speak with frustrated customers, listen to complaints and tirades. It's not always that way because there are surely a good number of appreciative, grateful, considerate, reasonable and understanding people. But on a daily basis, for over 5 years, I had the chance to listen over the phone, the good, the bad and every attitude and character you can imagine.

Then one day, God allowed me to discover freelance work while I was searching for ways to augment our income. I’d say that freelancing was the turning point in my call center life. It's a crossroad that gave me two choices, one to continue working in a job I'm no longer happy and second, to take that chance, the opportunity and embrace the risk of freelancing in hope of advancing my family and ensuring that I will be able to provide for a growing family with 3 kids.

Fast forward to where I am now, I'd say that that choice is one of the best decisions I've made. I've been a full time freelancer for almost six years now and the growth and progress that I've made is phenomenal. I only have good things to say about freelancing and how it has changed my mentality from being an employee into that of a business owner.

I'm not sure where you are right now in terms of you personal goals and aspirations, but if you're looking at a career or business path, online freelance work, is a good thing to keep an eye on.
